40. Data Protection
The Bank, its parent Close Brothers
Group plc and other companies within Close Brothers Group plc
from time to time (and companies processing data on their behalf)
will hold and use such information on the Account Holder as is
reasonably necessary in connection with providing services to
the Account Holder in accordance with the Account Holder's instructions
and, from time to time, notifying the Account Holder of products
and services which the Bank feel may be of interest to the Account
Holder. This information may be transferred to or accessible
from those countries from time to time in which the Bank, Close
Brothers Group plc, and other companies within Close Brothers
Group plc operate.
However, the Bank will not pass
information about the Account Holder or the Account Holder's
Accounts with the Bank on to third parties to be used by them
for marketing purposes. If the Account Holder does not wish to
receive details of the Bank's other products and services, the
Account Holder must advise the Bank accordingly.
The Bank makes every effort to
apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures
to safeguard Account Holder information against unauthorised
or unlawful processing and against accidental loss or damage
and to comply generally with the security obligations under the
seventh principle of the Data Protection Act 1998 where the Bank
holds information on the Account Holder's behalf.
